We are delighted to share the excitement from our recent author visit with Matt Brown, the much loved writer behind the hilarious Compton Valance books!

On Friday 6th March 2026, our pupils were treated to an engaging and energetic session where Matt brought his stories to life through humour, creativity and lively discussion. Children in Years 3 and 4 were fascinated to hear about his writing process, the inspiration behind his unforgettable characters, and what it’s really like to be an author.

The session was filled with lively discussion, thoughtful questions and plenty of opportunities for pupils to connect with Matt’s passion for reading and creativity. The book‑signing that followed was a definite highlight, with children eager to take home their own signed copies.

It was a wonderful experience that left our young readers feeling motivated and excited about books!
